“Growing
up, I thought my sister was the most beautiful woman on the face of the earth. Yes!
she resembled our mother, but, she was the prettier version of mother. My fond
memories of those years gone by were really those of many days of vacation
spent with her at her different places of abode”. According to Mrs. Taiye

This was the description of Late Mrs. Gbekeloluwa Abosede
Christiana Bakare, by her sister and a worthy sibling who flew in from America
to witness passage of rites to her “prettier version of her mother” and to actively participate in the ceremony.
The late Mrs. Gbekeloluwa Abosede Christiana Bakare was born
in June 20, 1940, she was the first born of her parents Late Pa. Benjamin
Odejimi and Late Madam Felicia Adejoke (nee Adewusi) of Ibogun Odejimi, Ifo
Local Government of Ogun State.
She started her education at E.A.C Primary School, Ibogun
Odejimi, thereafter she completed and passed her Secondary School Certificate
Examination. She worked several sales and administrative jobs after leaving
secondary school but she always had business on her mind.
She was loving and compassionate, full of dignity and
beauty. Her stylish approach to life made her entered in to a beauty pageant
which she won, made her quite glamorous and fashion conscious.
She got married in 1964 to Alhaji Musbaudeen Adebola Bakare,
they were blessed with four (4) girls and two (2) boys. YETUNDE COMFORT GREEN, ADERENLE

She was a strong business woman, traveling from state to
state to buy goods and sell.
She was a true and faithful member of the Christ Apostolic
Church (C.A.C.).
She was a woman of
faith and charity, she believed in helping people who are less fortunate than
herself. She was a woman of substance, very fashionable, very caring, loving,
and was adored by her family and friends. She loved the Lord and was very
prayerful, she had her rosary by her sick bed.
The late Mrs. Gbekeloluwa Abosede Christiana Bakare died on
the 4th of March 2016 at her matrimonial home. She was aged 76 years, as it
pleased God, and she went to rest. She was buried at Ibogun Odejimi after a
Funeral Service at Emmanuel Ang. Church, Odejimi and the interment within the
church premises.
She is survived by children, grandchildren, sisters,
brothers, son in law, daughter in law, and families. May the almighty God
receive her soul, grant her eternal rest. Amen
