The Ogun State Government says its plan for the 40th anniversary celebration
of the creation of the State was not for fun and merriment alone but also an
occasion to give account of its stewardship to the people of the State.
Towards this end, it says a number of projects embarked upon and completed
by the current administration would be commissioned across the State as part of
the celebration.
Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa who dropped this
hint at a meeting with Heads of security agencies in the State also disclosed
that President Muhamadu Buhari, past Governors and icons of the State were
billed to commission the projects.
‘’Government intends to celebrate this milestone with a number of activities
and programmes. We have identified 40 key projects to be commissioned during
the week long. In Ogun West, we have about 12 projects, 13 projects are in the
offing in Ogun East and in Ogun Central, we have 15 projects to be
commissioned’’, the SSG said.

official visit to any South-West State, adding that the celebration would be
the ‘’biggest event since the inception of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun – led
administration’’.
All the security chiefs present at the meeting, including the State Security
Service, Nigeria Police Force, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security and
Civil Defence Corps and the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, pledged
their readiness to make the celebration and the President’s visit hitch-free.
